Caloundra to Noosa
Palm removal and palm cleaning on the Sunshine Coast
Taken down frond by frond and section by section where there is a pool or a roof underneath, or cleaned up and left standing when the palm itself is not the problem.
Palm removal
Why palms are their own job
Palms do not prune like a tree. Everything comes off from the top, and what is underneath decides how slowly.
Bangalows over the pool
Bangalow palms drop heavy fronds and flower stalks straight down, which is why they are lowered over a pool or paving rather than dropped.
Cocos palms
Cocos palms shed seed and dead fronds all year round, and they were planted beside a great many pools, which is where most of the slow work is.
Cleaning instead of removing
Dead fronds cut off, seed and flower stalks taken off before they drop, and the trunk cleaned back to green growth. Done once a year, it is often all a palm needs.
The trunk and the base
Once the head is off, the trunk is cut down in lengths. What is left can be ground out or cut flush with the ground, and the quote says which.
How it works
What happens after you get in touch
The council question is answered before the price, and nothing is booked until you have the quote in writing and have said yes to it.
- 1
Tell us about the tree
The suburb, what the tree stands near and what you would like done with it.

- 2
Someone comes to look
A tree contractor who covers your area sees the tree, the access and whatever is underneath it.

- 3
The council position is checked
Lot size, how close the tree is to the house and the mapping on the block decide whether an application comes first.

- 4
Quoted in writing
Scope, timber, stump and date set out on one page. Nothing is booked until you accept it.

Palm questions
Cleaning, seed and the pool
What does a palm clean involve?
Dead and hanging fronds out, flower and seed stalks off, and the old frond bases cleaned back to the green. Anything over a pool, a roof or paving is lowered rather than dropped.
How often should a palm be cleaned?
Once a year suits most palms, ideally before the wet season, so seed heads are not spread across the yard by the first big storm.
Are cocos palms a weed here?
The council lists cocos palm and Queensland umbrella tree among its locally significant invasive plants. Whether a particular palm is protected still depends on the block, so that is checked first.
